RP8 Belt Drive Turntable
The RP8 has been designed and engineered to achieve outstanding performance way beyond the expectations of a product at this price point. Excellent build quality, reliability and ease of use combine to make a product which, if used correctly, will offer you a lifetime of musical enjoyment.
The RP8 takes Rega’s design philosophy further than ever before. A radical new plinth using custom designed materials, a new tonearm bearing assembly, a 24V low voltage motor controlled by a hand tuned electronic power supply and a custom version of our Planar 9 engineered hub bearing assembly. These are just some of the features of this amazing new turntable designed to extract more music from your vinyl than ever before.
The Evolution of Revolution
Evolution is a well proven and documented process in many areas of our lives. This applies in particular to design engineers and machines. Over the past forty years our cars have become more reliable and economical whilst we take for granted the safety and speed of modern aircraft. Rega is no exception to evolution. Rega’s experience and previous achievements allow us to continually develop and produce better products.
The RP8 represents probably the biggest step forward in the evolution of Roy Gandy’s turntable design philosophies. Low mass, high rigidity plinths combined with electronically controlled low vibration motors, high flywheel effect platters and lower mass, higher stability tonearms. The RP8 is the first of our new “skeletal” design turntables offering groundbreaking levels of performance and amazing value for money.

Ania Moving Coil Cartridge
The Ania was inspired by the success of the Apheta 2 and Aphelion MC cartridges. Using the same exceptionally complex hand wound micro coil found in the rest of the range, the Ania is housed in a unique PPS highly rigid body, ensuring accurate construction and Rega's three point fixing method ensuring optimum connection to the headshell and automatic setting for overhang. The new body is protected by a CAD designed, clear rigid cover to protect the internal fine wires, making handling whilst fitting, safe and risk free. The Ania features a super high-powered, neodymium magnet and a coil meticulously hand wound on to an iron cross. This miniature assembly allows us greater freedom to track the vinyl groove ensuring even more detail is extracted from the vinyl.
All of these features combine to deliver a balanced and dynamic performance that will engage you with your vinyl like never before. The Ania is the perfect partner for the Planar 3, Planar 6 or RP8 turntables. Factory fitted options for some models are available Please ask your retailer for details.

Rega Apheta 2 MC Phono Cartridge
Groundbreaking Rega Apheta 2 MC Phono Cartridge Delivers Rare Combination of Crystal-Clear Highs and Firm, Taut, Deep Bass: No-Expense-Spared Design One of the World's Smallest MC Generators
Significantly Improves Upon Original Apheta: Stunning-Sounding Rega Apehta 2 MC Phono Cartridge Worthy of Finest Tonearms and Turntables, Extracts Immeasurable Detail from Vinyl LP Grooves
Featuring a state-of-the-art, ultra-high-powered neodymium magnet and a coil meticulously-hand wound on an iron cross, the Rega Apheta 2 moving-coil phono cartridge combines the benefits of cutting-edge modern technology with old-school analog design principles to yield a world-class cartridge worthy of the finest tonearms and turntables. Able to extract the most meticulous information from record grooves and reproduce music with unerring warmth, soulfulness, and purity, the second-generation Apheta 2 significantly improves upon the original Rega Apheta cartridge and touts far tighter tolerances and exponentially higher detail. This pioneering MC cartridge is distinguished with the long-sought-after blend of crystal-clear high frequencies and firm, tight bass. The stunning-sounding Apheta 2 is housed within a single-piece aluminum anodized body and protected by a CAD-designed, clear, ridged cover that protects the internal wiring so you can handle it without worry.
- No-Expense-Spared Design: Hear More Detail, Nuance, Tonal Character From Your LPs
- Apheta 2 ranks as one of the most profound achievements in Rega’s celebrated 40-year-plus history.
Rega engineers fine-tuned every aspect of the original design. Apheta 2’s iron cross is 50 percent smaller than that of the original, providing a weight reduction that allows far greater freedom to track vinyl grooves. As a result, you hear more detail, more nuance, more tonal character, more of everything you want to experience. Indeed, Rega spared no expense in the redesign and overhauled the entire production department to ensure Apheta 2 surpassed every goal and expectation. Huge investments into High Definition magnification cameras and displays paid off by netting much higher detail and far tighter tolerances than possible on the original Apehta.
Groundbreaking Cartridge Contains No Tie Wire or Foam Damper
Conventional MC cartridges utilize a steel suspension system (tie wire) that creates a high-amplitude H.F. resonance (normally around 8-12kHz). Such resonance is unacceptable and usually damped by a rudimentary piece of foam rubber. However, the foam rubber deteriorates with age and cannot prevent the complete structure from vibrating and "ringing.” The specifics and adjustment of the tie wire and damping determine whether the cartridge is under-damped (bright) or over-damped (warm and bass heavy). A happy medium between the two is rarely achieved. Such issues encouraged Rega to pursue a new direction inspired by modern materials and the basic laws of magnetism. Apheta 2 contains neither a tie wire nor a foam damper.
